Rosezinda Riding Rainbows Author:John Parker ÂRosezinda: Riding Rainbows is a fanciful tale that literally starts out with a Â`bang!Â' Within seconds of being struck by a speeding van, Cora, a plucky outspoken 13-year-old, is taken on the thrill ride of her young life. Arriving in a new reality called Â`EÂ' and renamed Rosezinda, she encounters a collection of colorful individ... more »uals who take her on a series of hair-raising adventures. ÂThis quirky and somewhat edgy story had me hooked from its exciting beginning to the surprise ending. I didnÂ't want to put it down until I had read the last word; even then, I found myself turning the page, wanting more. The evocative imagery and eccentric characters are worthy of a Spielberg movie (especially the wonderful Â`basketball game,Â' which is unlike any basketball game the reader could ever imagine)! ÂThough the storyÂ's intended audience is childrenÂwho I believe will be entranced by itÂit may be enjoyed on multiple levels by older readers. Parents may wish to read Rosezinda: Riding Rainbows with their children and discuss some of the provocative questions it brings up. IÂ'm anxious to read more of RosezindaÂ's adventures! I applaud Parker on his originality and creativity.Â
ÂLinda R. Thompson, Ed.D., Director of Student Support Services, Harding University, Arkansas ÂJohn ParkerÂ's book is exciting because it includes the things that are important in life. When I grow up, I will make a movie out of it if there isnÂ't one by then.Â
