Just got the news wire and it talks about signing up tothe rss feed- what is that and how to you sign up?

If you don't know what rss is, you probably don't want it :) RSS sets your browser to automatically check for recent changes on a website. At PBS, it looks for recently posted books,

 

Look at the bottom of the page under Community, there is a link for the RSS  feeds.

There will be no difference in the results you get, it depends on what kind of rss service you use (I use Google Reader) but most of them can handle both now. 2.0 has been around since 2002.
