I have been a member here for a couple years so I know this is unusual, but man, I am having some really bad luck the last couple months.

A couple days ago I noticed one of the books I requested had timed out and the system canceled it.  It was a wish list book which I accepted minutes after getting notified because I happened to be online at the time.  Why would you post a wish list book and then ignore the request for it? It was a book my daughter wanted, a series book and she bought the next two but won't read them until she reads the one we're wating for-and she's driving me crazy! I would have had her buy it had I known this was going to happen.

I had another book time out a few weeks ago. I checked the person's list and they haven't posted a book in 2 years, and all of them on her list were done the same day-inactive, I don't know, but it looks like it  I got it finally from the next person in line, received it, it looked fine until I opened it  to read a week or two later and in 2 spots once the book was opened completely the pages snapped loose (they were sorta like stuck at the binding if that makes sense) and are falling out.  I can read it, but I can't repost it.

Had another book recently that I thumbed through and it looked fine so I received it.  When i read it I found a few pages in it that had food stuck to it-yuck.  I read it, but threw that one away too.

Another book that I got has just seen better days.  It is older, and it shows.  Nothing against the rules about posting it I suppose, but after I read that one it too went in the garbage.  That was my own call.

I started a book last night that I got a month ago or so.  I read about 2 chapters and hated it so I am going to repost that one today.  I don't read books I don't like-that's no ones fault, but just another bad luck thing in a long list.. On the plus side, I picked up another one I had here and read 4 chapters and so far I really like that one.

I hope this string of bad transactions breaks and I start getting some nice books again in a timely manner. I am out 3 credits (4 if you count the one I didn't like and have to repost and wait for it to go).  I have actually bought several books in the last couple months which is unusal for me.

Ahhh, thank you so much!  that was so nice of you, and totally unnecessary, but very much appreicated! I do have a couple that I am saving for any wishlist book that might become available because you know how it works-you run out and then your books become available so you buy some credits, and then of course you ship a few books lol. I have one book I am waiting to arrive-I am just sure it's going to get here and be in great shape! I have had so few bad experiences here,  it's just so strange that I have had so many all at once, and I think i felt like whining today when I got on here to repost the book I started to read last night and didn't like lol.

I had a similar thing happen a couple of weeks ago. A wish list book was posted to me, the requester accepted the request, and then a couple of days later cancelled. I PM'd to find out why b/c they didn't fill out the field, and was told he was a "newbie" who decided after posting his 10 books to cancel his requests b/c he hadn't realized how expensive it was going to be to mail books out! I was really frustrated, it was a book I had on my wish list for quite a while! And I can't help but wonder if he got his two "freebie" books anyway...

OMGoodness, it sounds like you got a years worth of bad luck out of the way all at once.  I'll bet it only gets better from here.  I sure hope so anyway.  :>)
