This book told a story about a young white boy with a best friend who was black. The story describes life in a rural community where opinions about the African-American rights divide the community, and friendships. It's a very good story!

Terry Kay writes a fascinating story of the friendship between two young boys, one white & one black. in the 1940's. They don't understand or care about racial prejudice, but they soon learn about it first hand. Beautifully written.
