Martha Grimes is a fantastic mystery writer. This is from the Richard Jury series with an eccentric cast of characters with an English pub connection,

Supt. Jury #8, in which Jury and Plant again hook up with Devon Chief Constable Brian Macalvie when a killing in London matches one committed in Devon a few months previously. Same killer? Or just coincidence? And who’s next in line to be strangled with a scarf? Enjoyable visit with the crew as usual.
