I received a water damaged book.  I sent a rwap and received an answer from the sender that he would send me $4 to resolve.  I would rather have a credit.  If I go to the transaction archive, do I use the small pm button there for my pm to be tracked by tptb?

TPTB can see any PMs if they want to.  If you want to keep your PM tied to the transaction, then use the PM button from your transaction archive.
