First of the Sackett series, Begins in England before Sackett's can to America. Good read.
The first of the Sackett series. The story of the first Sackett that came to lAmerica. This is the beginning of the story of the American frontier as told through the eyes of the Sackett family.
This is the beginning. Set circa 1600. Has a Chronology of the books in the front
In Queen Bess's England, the nobles hold all the power, and even the son of a feared warrior has to bow and scrape before his betters. So when fiery Barnabas Sackett dares defend himself against the arrogant
nephew of an earl,he becomes a wanted outlaw who needs every survival skill he learned in the wild bogs of fen country.
Sackett's Land - first book in the Sackett series. A wonderful book for those who love Louis L'Amour, the Sackett's, and who are interested in history. Set in a time several centuries ago, it deals with geo-political issues of the "Old World", and focuses on some of the issues involved in the early settling of North America by folks from England and the fens.
Or, if you just like swashbuckling action, it is still a great read.
Want to get more into the westerns, but i guess it had to start somewhere.
Comparatively L'Amour knowledge of boats and terms is lacking, but the action was nevertheless there.
L'Amour books are always great.
This is the first story in the sweeping saga of the Sacketts. Here, Barnabus Sackett is in England and is swept up in a tide of events that bring him among the first settlers to the New World in America. L'Amour is THE master storyteller, and this audio version of the story (unabridged) is a wonderful way to hear it.
loved the book! enjoyed the insight it gives of who the west started in 1600's in england, and liked the old english phrases too. (my husbands review)
If you like the saga of the Sackett's,you will love the 1st. book in the series
