I just got a book that the first 90 pages are so crinkly you know they had water damage. Then about half way through the book there is only one inch that is holding the book to the binding, the rest is loose. Why do members keep trying to send books like this?  This would be very hard not to notice the condition of the book.

Almost every book I've received has been fine. The generous explanation for the bad ones is ignorance (didn't read the rules) or they simply do not care.

I have not received to many bad ones maybe 3, most of them are in very good shape. And I know sometimes you can miss something but the ones that you dont even have to open the cover to see damage.......just no excuse for it.

I agree, no excuss. RWAP and ask for credit back. We need to weed out people who think it is ok to trade such books!

Why do members keep trying to send books like this?

Because so many members don't mark books RWAP when they should!  They don't want the hassle, don't want the confrontation, feel bad for the other person in case they didn't notice the damage, etc. etc.

If every member who got a bad book marked RWAP and asked for their credit back, there would be a lot fewer of these sent out.  If no one calls them on it, of coursepeople will keep sending out unpostables when they get to keep the credits.

So thank you to everyone who uses the RWAP as the system intends, it helps raise the quality of books traded for all of us!

She was very nice and gave me my credit back this is the only person that ever has. I suppose if you did not open the book you might not know that in the middle it was completely coming out of the binding.

I haven't had to RWAP a book  yet (insert sound of Knocking On Wood), however I've "Retired" several books I've received; just because I wouldn't post them again.  These books barely met posting standards.  I think any responsible member of this great site needs to do that when they see fit.
