The pastor from saddleback church asked both canidates the SAME set of questions. since this was NOT a debate, while one canidate was being questioned the other was off in another room. This type of questioning was great because you got straight answers from the canidates.

WHILE THIS IS MY OPINION, I felt that McCain came out stronger just because he ALWAYS answered the question and Obama skirted around ALOT of issues. Obama was real wishy washy with his answers and McCain was forthright and to the point.  In my opinion McCain came across confident and obama was just trying to please the crowd.

this is just my opinion.

I found this to be the most interesting forum I've heard on the election.   I thought both men conducted themselves well, but that McCain was more direct and talked to the people.   I felt Obama was skirting around some of the issues.     I LIKED the fact that this was a way to find out about the man, his own beliefs, not just party lines.

We don't have cable, so I'd love to see it on youtube, or somewhere, if anyone finds a link!  :)

Phooey on wanting to see it, but being too cheap to pay for cable

It was Rick Warren who gave the Debate .  From what I seen at least McCain looked at Rick Warren when he spoke the majority of the time . But Obama his face was moving all around . I dont think he looked at Rick Warren as much when he was spoken too. McCain seemed to be more prepared . At least he didnt seem to me to stutter some of his words.  This of course is just my opinion .

My dh watched this and said it's the best politcal discussion he's seen for this election.  He wants me and the kids to watch as part of our school work (we home school).  He said as he watched Obama first he thought he did pretty well, but when McCain came out he just slam-dunked it.  He was real and personable and his 'war stories' were incredibly moving.

I haven't seen this, but it sounds good.  I'll have to get DH to watch it with me later.  Thanks for the link.

I'm disapointed that he didn't include Bob Barr.  I get so tired of all the media supressing candidates.  The American people deserve to hear from all the candidates, not just two.

Check out the reply Obama gave Rick Warren regarding when life began for an infant (fetus).  The forum that took place at Saddleback, along with the political posts here,  has helped cement (not make, but cement) my presidential vote decision.

At least when McCain was spoken to he looked directly at Rick Warren ,where Obama was looking all around . It is polite to look at someone when they are talking to you . We where always taught that in school .

Yes, this was a defining moment for Mr. Obama... what the heck is he doing voting on issues he's unsure about? If it's "above his pay grade" to specify when life begins, how can he vote for such crucial laws? If answering Rick Warren's (and indeed, all of America's) question about the beginning of life is "above his pay grade" then surely taking such a definitive pro-choice stance is well above his pay grade.
