San Antonio Public Library phasing out audioCASSETTEs (Dec 2010)

I  learned today .... the San Antonio Public Library is phasing out audiocassettes in favor of CDs and downloadables. The main branch has already moved their stock from the shelves to the FOL store. Some branches will reserve their own audiocassettes for the branch's own  FOL sale. I went in after the downtown FOL store had closed today, so I don't know how many audiobooks are available, how much they cost, how much space they take up, etc. VHS tapes are also phased out in favor of DVDs.

So... if you are a fan of audiobooks, you may be able to get a lot for a low price. The regular FOL  price on audiobooks is 25 cents/tape. I will update if I get more information.
