I just got an email that a local bookstore will be hosting a booksigning by Brandon Sanderson for The Gathering Storm. Oh yeah!!!!  I remember when Jordan came a couple of years ago, and man, was that a circus :-) I'm hoping this will be just as good.

Besides liking WoT, I am also a big fan of Sanderson's, so I'm really looking forward to this. Will probably have to buy Gathering Storm at the bookstore, but hey, why not support a local shop for something like this? Even though, I AM number 1 on the wishlist for this book :-(  Oh well, signed copies take precedence over almost anything, whoohooo!!!!!  and if I'm lucky, I can get some of his other books signed, that I already own :-)

I am pretty stoked...

Awww lucky you!  Nobody ever comes here.  We're too close to DC, so if anyone comes to the area they go to a store there.  Unfortunately, that's a bit too far to be realistic for me to go for a book signing.

I'm going to a signing on Wednesday (28th) will be great to do the meet and greet.  He's also going to do a reading and answer some questions.  Can't wait myself!

Cool!  Sanderson is a very personable guy.   I met him once when he was signing Mistborn in a local store.  Nobody else was there to talk to him so we got to chat for a bit about his books.  (This was back before he landed the WOT deal and became really famous so there wasn't a line of people waiting to see him).

That's cool ravensknight! It's great that you'll get to meet him and if you do buy the book at the signing - guess what, I'm right there in the #2 spot on the PBS wishlist ;)

I went to his signing earlier in the week. We heard him talk about getting The Job and some other things, then he answered some Q & A. I got one of the freebie maps they were giving out signed too. I'll be framing it. He was a really nice and quiet kinda guy. The epitome of a fantasy guy book worm. I had to wait for an hour and a half in line to get my book signed, but well worth it. They were also giving out bumperstickers with the WOT logo on it, in addition to "Bela is a Darkfriend" and "I killed Asmodean".

Yeah, I got one of the "I killed Asmodean" ones. But my wife won't let me put it on our car. I can understand though. Too many people we know wouldn't understand and would take it the wrong way :-)

I just met him at B&N last week. He was doing a number of book signings in SLC. We chatted with him for a few minutes and he was very very nice. I thought for sure there would be a much longer line, but there wasn't. He signed my mmpb copy of Elantris. I took a chance on it a few years ago when I bought it and STILL haven't read it yet. I'm hoping to get around to that soon. If I don't like it enough to keep it, I guess someone on PBS is getting a signed copy. :-)
