This is a great adventure story. Pam's dad had died shortly before the summer and she was so angry. Her mother had went back to work as a teacher and did not make enough money. So off they went for the summer to a boy's summer camp so that mom could make a decent salary as a cook to pay their bills. Pam makes friends with a junior boy counselor Dennis who is a good friend who teaches her about Jesus. Peter a tiny 6 year old boy who recently lost both his parents does not speak but he gravitates to Pam and Dennis. Pam loves Peter and makes friends with Dennis. Who is the thief that is stealing from the food storage that is locked at night? What does Pam do when an older boy comes and wants to take her for a ride at the camp? Can a girl have a good time at an all boys camp? This is a great story.
