Invaluable for the Christian parent. Explains Santa in a positive light with a Christian view. Mainly focuses on history of Santa Clause and how he is seen in today's world.

Teach your children about the real Saint Nicholas so santa will remind them of who Saint Nick was and why we give gifts.

This book has wonderful information on the true story of St. Nicholas. The beginning starts out witht he little boy getting told that Santa Claus isn't real so he's sad that Santa Claus won't be bringing him any presents. The father tries to cheer him up by telling him the real story of St. Nicholas. The boy understands and starts trying to give gifts in secret like St. Nicholas did, but on the last page the boy thinks he saw Santa Claus out hte window. What nonsense! Why go through all that explanation of the truth just to return to the lie that Santa Claus is real? I was real disappointed with that and think that it defeats the whole purpose of the book. I only got it because I thought it would tell the whole truth, but I've found a better explanation to read to my children now (Voice of the Martyrs has a book called The Story of St. Nicholas). I was looking for a book that tells the truth that Santa Claus is not real. Harold Myra doesn't take a bold enough stand and gives in to compromise at the end of this book.

I really like this series. In this one, a father tells his son the story of Saint Nicholas as the origin of Santa Claus. The illustrations are a little remedial but I like the way the information is presented. Appropriate for 4 years and up.
