hi all-I keep seeing Sarah Mccarthy books recommended to me through amazon.I read part of one of her books, and I don't remember even the cover, just that I thought her writing was too cutsey. Are all her books like that? If anyone has a rec. for cowboy romances (the darker the better) I'm all ears. The only cowboy book I ever picked up was one of Diana PAlmers I think it was lacy and I didn't finish it. Thanks!

hmm I dont recall hers being cutesty - maybe some stuff - the Promises series I thought was kinda dark-ish (but I'm pretty wussified) but Loralei James has a rough riders series I just got back into recently - erotic romance.

sorry EVelyn just checked back...I'd start at the beginning - the previous characters show up and others are hinted at - there's some violence in this series though - that part botherd me but I'm pretty wussy when it comes to that kinda stuff. others liked the hell 8 series - I did 1 and there was violence including rape mentioned.  I liked Asa in the first Promises book. so far I've liked Loralei James - she has a LOT of topics - some have menages or same sex stuff and others mention it then the main romance starts up.I'd definitely go in order on her series

Lorelei James is awesome.....two series out.  Rough Riders and West Family are through Samhain and Blacktop Cowboys are through NAL.  All are erotic and awesome.

Beth Williamson does a great job too.

Heather Long does a paranormal historical western series....Fevered Heart.

C.H. Admirand----The Secret Life of Cowboys

Lorelei James is also known as Lori Armstrong and she has two series out that may interest you as well.  They are mainly mystery but have romance in them.

Diane Whiteside's historical westerns, Devil series (The Irish Devil, The River Devil, The Southern Devil etc) are pretty good (darker, steamy scenes, storyline).

hey Les I acutally have the river devil, and for some reason I haven't even opened it. That's a bad habit I have, I'll buy a book from a thrift store and then just never read it.
