Excellent family book.

Gives some insight into a period of history where things were done a little differently. In rural society, both parents are necessary, but not always a reality.

This story of a 'mail order bride,' and her affects on a small family is heart-warming to say the least.

Read by the actress that popularized the book/movie title.
