Title: Dad's Sweet Red Sauce

Dish: Sauces & Dressings

Dish Type: Other

Cooking Method: Stove Top

Difficulty: Average

Servings: 4-6

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 3 hours

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1/4 cup water

26 oz jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce

To taste: garlic powder or garlic salt, italian seasoning, minced onion, and sugar

Directions:

Brown the beef with the garlic powder/salt, italian seasoning, and onion in a large pot.

Drain, and put the meat back in the pot. Add the jar of sauce, then pour the water into the jar, shake, and add to pot. Bring the sauce to a boil.

After sauce is boiling, add sugar a 1/2 teaspoon at a time to taste. Simmer over low heat for 3 hours.

Notes: This sauce is even better if prepared the day before and reheated for use the second day. This makes enough sauce for one family-sized meal of spaghetti, lasagna, stuffed shells, baked ziti, etc.
