I was printing a wrapper for a book and I forgot to change the weight of the book.  The wrapper says 5 oz First Class Mail rate, but it weighs 10.75 oz.  It is in a short rectangular box.  I'd like to just add some stamps and drop it in the blue box since it is below 13 oz., but I can't figure out how much I need to add.  I did the "calculate postage" using the USPS website, clicking on the package/box price.  For parcel post, it says it will be over $6.00!  Does that sound right?  Can I still do the media mail price, marking out "first class" and writing media mail on the package?  And, since it is under 13 oz., I can still drop it in the blue box....right?  Argh, that is what happens when I get in a hurry!

I forgot to add the weight of extra books when I used the printed postage the other day.  I blocked out all the 1st class parts and used stamps to bring it up to the correct media mail rate.

Stamps in addition to printed postage are ok because they can still track where the postage came from.
