This book is a paperback.

It is a collection of short stories and poetry.

The preface, written by Bens, explains the contents of the book:

"The search for awareness is unending...My last image is of the artist as one who stands at the edge of darkness while most of the rest of us cluster at the center of what we think is a circle of light, that area where we know all the answers. The artist reaches out into the darkness and brings in the new, the strange, the disturbing. Most of the rest of us want the old, the familiar, the comforting...
There is the chance, however, that what is disturbing us is the propaganda of someone who simply wants us to substitute his social fictions, his status quo for you own. Knowing who and what to give our minds to has been a problem for thousands of years."
