This was a lovely sequel to read after Mrs. Mike. Though it lacks some of the wilderness excitement of the first book, there is plenty of wartime drama and well-drawn characters to keep the story going. Like the first book, this is a nice "clean" romance, and would also appeal to readers interested in historical fiction, or First Nation (Canadian Native American) characters.

This sequel to "Mrs Mike" follows her adopted daughter, Kathy, through nurse's training and awakening romance during WWII, but it lacks the emotional resonance of the original.

Sweet sequel to Mrs. Mike, written by a husband and wife team. If you're in the mood for heartwarming/uplifting through troubles with a bit of romance thrown in, this is your book.

It is misleading to call this book a story about Mrs. Mike. It is only about her fictional adopted daughter who is named after her. This book is poorly researched historical fiction. The author tries to cram in experience as a First Nations young woman, nurse's training, a traditional first nations marriage, service in Italy during WWII, a romance with an Austian POW, and some other side drama. I loved Mrs. Mike but this is nothing like it.
