Is there a way to search the Wish Lists of your friends collectively rather than doin' a search of each individual one?

I think this might be a gold key function.  Yep.

Q: How do I search my Friends' Bookshelves?

A: You can do this two ways:

  • From your Friends list - there will be a " Search Friends' Books" link at the top of the page
  • From the Book Browser - you can check the box (shown below) on the left of the page and put in your Search terms:

    Friend's Books Only

Then there is posting books that are on your friend's WL, also gold key option.

Q: I Posted a book that I know is on a Friend's Wish List, but the option to offer it to her did not show up! Why not?

    A: These are the possibilties:

    • You don't have Gold Key membership.  You can check this by looking at your profile to see if the Gold Key icon is there.  If you have not created a PBS Profile, you can look at the top of your Friends list to see if the link to "Search Friends' Bookshelves" appears there.

    or

    • Your friend has a different version (ISBN) of the book on his/her Wish List.  The ISBN you post must match one on her Wish List in order for you to be able to offer your book to her.

    or

    • Your friend has this Wish on hold on his/her Wish List.

    or

    • Your friend has his/her account on Vacation Hold and this wish is not set to auto-request.

    or

    • Your friend has his/her account on Vacation Hold and this wish IS set to auto-request but your friend has no credits in his/her account.

Aha!  Ya know, I don't know why I didn't think of that.

It could be 'cause I'm a bit of a ditz but, if asked, I'll be forced to deny, oh-well-ok, admit that I am a might ditzy.

Thank you very much.  (Latka)

You can't actually search your Friends' Wish Lists with Gold Key, you can search their Bookshelves and post Wish List books directly too their Wish Lists. To search their WLs you do it in a round about way - you post the book and see if any names pop up in the options to ship or if it is just going to post it FIFO. If you get options, you will see all of the Friends you could possibly send to. After seeing the options to post to, you can chose to complete the posting process or back out.

Oh, I see.  Well, reckon I'll just stick to searchin' them individually then.  Thanks.

I think that would be a great new feature that I would use a lot.  When I find a book that has been posted but I don't need it for a series (often non-ISBN), I check my friends' wishlists and let them know it is available.  It would be really nice to have an easier way to do this.
