Hi,

I've gotten really good at narrowing down my advanced searches for exactly the type of books I am looking for, and being able to check daily for some very specific categories of new stuff.  However, some of the lists of tagged items out there do a great job of bringing disperate books together in one place.  Does anyone know of a way to search by tag?  Just clicking on the tag lists all books, posted and not - making it hard to narrow down what I am looking for.  It'd be really handy to check each day if any books with a specific tag have been posted.

Thanks!

Jonathan

I don' t believe that searching by tags is possible yet.

You can though, go about this a different way.. or two, even. You can save your searches here or you can add the books you would like to either your Wish or Reminder lists, and can see from there if they were posted. I use my Reminder list for that purpose a lot. If there is an Order This Book buttom next to the book on your Reminder List, some one has posted it. If you add it to your WishList, the system will "hold" the book for you and send you a message that it is available for you to order when it is your turn on the FIFO list. If it is a book I am sure I will want when it comes available, I add it to my WishList, set it to auto-request and have a nice surprise when I sign in and see that the book is on its way to me.

R&R said once the tag system is well used site wide, they will implement a search feature for it, but it is not feasible until there are enough tags to generate any searching.

If you click on a particular tag, it will bring up a list of all the books with that tag.  Sometimes I'll add a tag I want to search for to a book on my bookshelf, then click on it.  (And then remove it, if it doesn't apply to that book.)  That way I get to see all the books that are tagged "top 10" or "rafting" or whatever.
