Life in a quiet cul-de-sac called Cedar Circle is pleasant, if uneventful, for four diverse neighbors. Brenda Dodd is a happy career mom, homeschooling her children. Tory Sullivan, more overwhelmed by her role as mother, finds her children to be a challenge. Sylvia Bryan, meanwhile, suffers from empty nest syndrome, and Cathy Flaherty is raising her three children alone after a divorce. When Brenda's son Joseph is diagnosed with an enlarged heart, the women of Cedar Circle come together to cope with life's challenges and find strength through God. What could have been a melodramatic tale becomes instead a life-affirming look at personal struggle and commitment to a religious life. T

The book is the first in a series of four books about a group of neighbors living together, learning about God's grace, and being there for each other as life's challenges come to their families. The neighbors are all very diverse: Sylvia, the mother who is an empty nester but a mother to the other three neighbors; Cathy, a single mother who works as a vet and has struggled with her three children; Tory, a former beauty queen who works to deal with her perfectionism while working with her husband to raise their two children, and Brenda, a true believer homeschools her four children and is married to a man holding a grudge against God.
In this book the main struggle is for Brenda's family. Her son, Joseph, needs a heart transplant. The neighbors rally around the family, which receives a miracle from God. A heart comes just as Joseph is about to take his last breath.
Wonderful book. Hard to wait to start the next one.

Excellent series!!
Wonderful! Such a sweet story--a real tear jerker!
Enjoyable reading by two of my favorite authors relatively early in their careers. A mix of life threatening illness of a child, and how various people handle the challenge.
One of my all time favorite series! You really come to care about the characters. It has a great plot & excellent writing.
A thoroughly absorbing book! You won't want to put it down. It will evoke tears but also sweet good feelings. It is quite a story about how everyone pulls together to help each other.
This is the stories of several families who live in the same cul de sac and how their lives are intertwined. It is the first in a series. I wish I could find the rest of the series. Maybe it will show up here.
This was a good book about a neighborhood of people like you and me in current America. However it was jumping from family to family (mainly each of the women) and requires some mental jumping back and forth to each woman and her challenges. Slow reading for me.
Sometimes the greatest joys in life can be uncovered during life\'s most difficult times... this book is well written and is a tender story of how a community handles the triumphs and tragedies of life. It takes you on an emotional ride with the endearing characters in the book.
1st in the Seasons series. I really enjoyed the characters and the realistic experiences that each of the families are going through. I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
