I read this book in 1979 when it first came out. In fact, the book I have is the "first edition" and I have no idea if it was ever printed again. I never read it again, but I planned to, and kept it for all these years. I remember that it was an amazing and exciting and it made me really think.

It was ahead of its time as well, although the Catholic Church is not treated well here, it covers how religions can work in a way that is not what we expect.

This book is an excellent read. And if you don't want to think, you don't have to. But if you want to think about the issues it raises, you should. They are really with us today, unlike when it was written.
