From the back of the book........

Alex Carlisle is dead and buried in the Carlisle Cabin basement, his head bashed in with a shovel when a private party turned deadly.....

Two young women swore to keep the secret of what happened one cold January night in 1979---the night a murderer was born in the picturesque mountain community of Pinewood, California. Seventeen years later, three more people died at the Carlisle Cabin, and the Party Killer walked away free.

In the year 2000, aspiring writer Melissa Grant rents the Carlisle Cabin. It isn't long before she finds out that, not only is she spending her vacation at the crime scene, but she bears an uncanny resemblance to one of the murder victims---an eerie twist of fate that reawakens the madness in the murderer. As Melissa writes her mystery novel, she doesn't know that opening up the past and incorporating the real life murders into her book, is providing an invitation for the killer to strike again.
