When her late husband's nephew and heir suddenly reappears to claim his inheritance, a move that would leave her destitute, the cool, pragmatic Elizabeth Massey enters into a sexual bargain with the interloper that nets her a consummate lover and a love she had never imagined. A tsar's ransom in Russian jewels, a clever, relentless murderer, and an intricately plotted story with more than a few surprises add to a historical romance that pushes the sexuality levels to the limits of the genre with an explicitness that practically sends the pages up in flames.

I'm torn on how to review this book. On the one hand, it had a plot (always nice), copious amounts of mostly really hot sex scenes (excellent bonus), but the dialogue. Oh, my, the dialogue! It varies between so-so, wildly stilted and unwieldly, to almost cringeworthy. The pet names and love terms were unusual to say the least, and frankly if I were the heroine, I'd be hard pressed not to get the giggles upon hearing them, if I weren't offended first. Probably not the mood she was going for when writing them. Dialogue aside, the scenes themselves are pretty sexy. Overall, give it a try if you're looking for a back up for your A-list erotica authors.
