This is written for people who've read chick lit and think "that looks easy" (trust me, it's not) but have never attempted to write fiction after high school. You can't get any more basic than this and there's no great insights about what makes chick lit unique that you won't pick up from reading a few chick lit books.

Awesome book. Very down-to-Earth and humorous. I believe you could apply this to other genres besides Chick Lit.
