Can anyone sell me 10 for $20? Been away a long time. Got a notice of a long awaited book available. I don't have enough time to rearrange my self and hope for credits in time. Any help would be fantastically apriciated.

Hi,

I'm sorry I can't offer credits for as cheaply as you ask (it cost more than that just for the postage to send a book out to get the credits). But I have plenty I advertise for $2.50 apiece if you need them.

Thanks, Dave

Sent a credit as a freebie - hope this is in time to get the book you wanted!

Don't feel the need to pay it back - just pay it forward to another some day if you please.

David - simple question - have you mailed any books out?  My original statement was that you haven't.  To see that it has been blown into what follows is kind of sad - in a way.

Kevin R.

I just very recently became a member of paperbackswap so maybe you can give me a chance. I have ordered and received several books already and am only starting to have time to read them. I've been a member of the sister site on here (SwapaDVD) since it began about 6 years ago making me a charter member there. During that time I've mailed out, figuring in all of the deals I've given other members and all the multiple discs sets I've sent out (many brand new) well over 1000 DVDs and have never had a complaint and have made some good friends there. I've also ordered over 1000 there (counting deals members made with me on the discussion board). I'm not sure why you felt you had to come on here and say "You have mailed zero books" but I can only assume you are trying to hurt my ability to sell my credits so you can sell more of yours (yes, I've noticed you've sold your limit for this month, but the less people that buy from me will leave more potential sales for you in the future). I can't imagine another reason for you to say "You have mailed zero books" as it isn't relevant in any way to my selling credits and I just felt it was rude and uncool. I've fallen on very hard times and need to sell my credits to help me get by. If I understood your post wrong, please explain. And firethorn, I'm so sorry this had to end up on your thread but I felt I had to defend myself.

I'm fine with the discussion.  I myself have shipped a few books in the past but it's been so long I recall little of the process.  I understand hard times. We have a large family, homeschool the children and books are a staple in our home. But with 11 children im always looking for the best deal.

Best of luck all around and Danny, thank you! You warmed my heart.

Kevin,

I thought I'd be nice and P.M. you so you could look here so you didn't have to get lucky to ever even know someone was talking about you (the way I did since I never heard back from the poster and only checked back here on a whim). I wanted to be sure to give you a chance to explain yourself and maybe show me what I said was wrong somehow. So here's what you say:

"My comment stands as you are explaining your reason for not being able to sell the credits cheaper than $2.50 is that it costs more to mail a book out.The fact stands (looking at your profile) that you have mailed zero books.  The price to mail a book should not be referenced to defend your price, if you have not mailed out any books".

Okay, you even said in your first post "Your statement is true, it does cost more than $2 to mail a book." It also costs more than $2.00 to mail out a DVD on the sister site (SwapaDVD). As a matter of fact, yesterday, I  received a single disc DVD that cost $3.02 to send. My most recent book I got cost 3.17 to send. Most of my credits were earned by sending out DVDs at nearly the same cost as mailing books. So you say "The price to mail a book should not be referenced to defend your price, if you have not mailed out any books". I know the prices are different on each item sent but the obvious point is, if I'm taking a loss my $2.50 price (and for sure the $2.00), what difference does it make where the credit came from? I only referenced "books" because that's the site we're on.

Bringing my girlfriend into this is wrong. She has nothing to do with it. She's hurting really bad for money too. Her money belongs to her and mine belongs to me and I feel you are trying to hurt my sales even more by using her. All I did was answer an ad to give this person a chance to get credits if they need some. It was none of your business and absolutely my girlfriend should have never been mentioned.

On a positive note, Danny N, I just noticed you sent the poster a freebie credit. That was awesome. It's people like you that make this site so great!

Dave

Thanks for understanding firethorn.
