UGh!  I know what you mean.  I feel like telling the authors "I'm a big girl.  I own well written erotica for when I'm in the mood for erotica.  I picked your book up because you promised me a plot."

That is the publisher's marketing that messed up, not the author.  Rarely do authors get a choice in cover art.  

That said, cartoon art does not belong on books with lots of sex.  Kinda like telling us that Joe Camel was not aimed at getting kids to smoke.
