Ms. Shea has done a wonderful job researching these Norwegian knitting designs. She gives a nice amount of background about the mittens, how the patterns came to be, examples of surviving mittens together with patterns that exist or those she's developed from them together with some patterns she's developed in the style herself. Overall, a lovely book authored by a knitter very interested in documenting these mittens before it was too late.
