Ok, I really need to stay out of CMT before I get a reminder from admin or worse booted for going off on someone over stupid shyte that really has no meaning or value to me in the first place. ((sigh))

I am staying out of CMT. It's like watching reality t.v. I don't even watch that crap so why am I posting to drivel that amounts to the same thing?

LB - I think quite a few of us are posting less & less at CMT.  I'm refraining from posting more often now because the forums are public and I have trust issues with people who have such a difference of opinion than me. ;-)

I think that's the hard part, remembering not to give a crap about stuff that at first glance makes us want to say something, when in the scheme of things we are better off if we just not respond.

JavaJuice,

When I took a hard look at my behavior, I realized there's a lot going on  that I don't like and I need to find other ways of addressing what's going on with me. I think you're right: we're better off if we just don't respond.

I was just reading some of what is going on at CMT - it sounds like someone was cyber stalked because of what she has written there, so it makes me want to not post there even more.  I really dislike the fact that some of the neatest members are leaving right now, but I think I truly understand the 'why' of it all.

If you need someone to talk to, please feel free to send a PM to me.  Sometimes just writing it out will help you figure out what's going on in your head & heart.

I haven't posted there in over a year and I rarely look at it.  The few times I have, I again realize why I stay away.  Not worth it.  You are not going to change anyone's mind.  The stuff that goes on it so ugly.  I don't want to aline myself with that.

Rose,

I hear you. I hope more of those who can engage in a civil, respectful discourse will start posting more here and in Current Affairs and Politics. If not, I have to remind myself I belong to a few communities. One place can't be everything for you. Thanks.

Gah.  Its happening again.  And I feel the need to run from CMT screaming 'Retreat!' or else I'll end up concussing myself on my desk in frustration...

The Boy Scouts thread is driving me teeth-grindingly insane.  A gay men leading a scout troop is promoting gay sex?  Gay men shouldn't be allowed to supervise boys?  By that logic no straight person should be left alone with any child of the opposite gender.

I was a Girl Scout for ten years, all the way up to Senior Girl Scout, and I was in a church Youth Group- neither of which had any problem with gay leaders or gay members.

I know Vanessa.  I posted a few times in the Boy Scouts thread because I can't stand the homophobia.  I always wonder why people like this are on a book-swapping site.  I mean - do they actually read?  And what do they read?  I probably don't want to know.........

I usually stay away from the forums full stop, but I just got sucked into that thread. Stupid me.
