I have just had a request for a certain book so I have about 24 hours to decide wether to send it or not.

The book , a paperback,  overall is in excellent condition. It is 46 years old and the pages are a little yellowish but not too much. The type is very legible. The pages are tight. The covers are bright and clear.

The problem is on the back spine. There is a spot, about the size of a quarter, whereit has been scratched so that the surface of the paper has been removed. A bald spot , so to speak.

I think it meets the guidlines  and is postable. I would not mind recieving it myself. But I know that some members are very particular and I do not want to lose a credit to an ovely sensative member.

Any thoughts?

I think it's postable. A portion of the cover can be completely missing (one square inch), so if yours is only damaged and it is roughly that size, I think its fine. It is a gray area, though.

You may want to PM the other member and ask them. But, you will have to decide if you are going to cancel the order or send it anyway if they don't answer before the mailing deadline.

Is this a book that has been reissued many times or something not necessarily out of print and hard to find-but only available in older copies?

I don't normally PM about a books condition but in this case I might.  Accept the request and choose the last possible mail by date.  In your PM give them a date to respond/cancel and say you will send the book on by the mail by date if you haven't heard from them.

It does sound postable.

I agree with the other posters that your book is postable. If the member requesting your book is expecting a 46 year old book to be perfect then they shouldn't be requesting it. I doubt that they are. It sounds like your book is in good condition considering that it's that old. Besides, they are probably really looking forward to receiving it and are quite surprised that your book is available. I know I would be if it were me.
