This morning I had a book that had been posted to my wishlist time out because the sender forgot to mark it as mailed though the wrapper was printed days ago. This afternoon, I received the book in my mailbox. It's a nice, brand new looking book and would like to mark it as received so the sender can get credit for it, but since they forgot to mark it as mailed, I can't. What do I do about this?

Go to your transaction archive and mark received.  Make sure it's the same sender but it likely is since it was wishlisted.

OH! Thank you so much, Valerie, I didn't know that was possible (obviously) wink

Problem solved!

Make sure to remove it from your Wish List too. It will have went back onto your WL when the sender didn't mark it mailed so you will want to delete it from there so you don't get 2 copies.

Thanks for the reminder, Melanie! The minute I unwrapped the book and realized what it was, I put it on hold just in case. I checked again just now and it's no longer on my list, but don't remember deleting it either. I've been pretty scatterbrained today, though, so who knows.

It would also be good to remind the sender that they did forget to mark the book late and she could have been out the credit, the postage and the book. If another sender had been assigned to you, when the book was not marked mailed and the transaction was cancelled out by the PBS system, you would have received 2 copies of that book.

I get messages from at least one person a week, who've received 2 copies of a book because someone forgot to mark their book Mailed. The receiver is only obligated to send a credit to the person who marked their book mailed. It would be good to remind this person of this so they remember to mark their books mailed in the future.
