I requested an audio book on 10/5.  The Sender marked it printed and mailed just before the request was about to time out on 10/13.  Today I got a PM from her saying that she's sorry but she can't find the book and thinks she must have sent it to someone else.  She says she thinks that I'll get my credits back when the system lists it as lost.

Do I now have to wait until the book goes lost on 11/9 to get my credits back and request it from someone else?  That seems unfair to me as the requestor.  The book isn't lost.  It was never sent.

Thanks.

JoAnne - Ask the sender to contact the PBS Team via the Feedback page: http://www.paperbackswap.com/feedback/index.php and ask them to cancel the transaction (only sender can ask this.)

I'd send her PM to TPTB by using the contact us link at the bottom of the screen.  Usually they do not get involved UNLESS a person knowningly admits to breaking the rules.. Send it and they should be able to fix or tell you what needs to be done.

Hopefully they will speak to this member and tell her to follow the rules and to NOT mark something mailed before she even finds it!

D.G. is correct, you shoud ask the sender to contact PBS to cancel the transaction. If you contact them yourself (even with the PM) they will just tell you that the sender needs to be the person who requests a transaction to be cancelled.

Yuppers, sender's responsibility to request a cancellation.

I agree -- ask the sender to contact the Admin Team.  You can give her DG's link, or you can tell her to go to the bottom right corner of any page, and under "company" click on "contact us" and to use the Feedback option there.  The sender has to ask them to cancel the transaction.  If she doesn't contact them, you'll eventually get your credit back when the book goes "lost", but that's a long wait.

Thank you for your responses.  The sender cancelled the request and I have my credits back.  All I've lost is lmost a month of waiting.

If the sender had already marked the book mailed, it would have been the PBS team who cancelled the request as they can't do it themselves. I'm glad it all worked out for you!
