Hi.

I'm relatively new.  I've tried to find an answer to my question.

I ordered a book (a kid's travel guide).  The person was nice enough to advise me that two pages of the book did have whited-out writing.  Because the book is for my daughter and may be a souvenir of our trip, I decided to decline the book.  I hope that was okay but I don't want a book with white-out.

Have I lost all chance to get ths book now?  Is there any way to get it from someone else or am I just out of luck?

Thanks.

Edited to add ... we worked it out.  The white-out is not significant and I'm okay with it.  Thanks for all the help everyone.

You can reorder the book. When you do, your order will go to this person first. What I recommend is before you request it,  add a Requester Condition that says "Per PBS rules,  I do not wish to receive books with any writing or highlighting in them." Then this person can just decline your order and it can move on to the next person/. You may want to PM them before hand that you are going to request the book and they should decline your RCs. I question on whether their book is even postable here. You don't have to accept a book with whiteout in it. Hopefully there will be other copies in the system.

Hi,

I am also quite new to this site but I don't see why you couldn't get another book. Have you searched for it? Try the search feature and you can find out if there is any more in the system. If not wish list it with the auto request feature on and when one does come into the system it will automatically be ordered for you (when it is your turn). There is an exclamation mark near the date on wish listed books that tell you where in line you are for the book in question i.e. 3 of 8 etc...) Hope that helps. Good luck and have a great trip.

I don't know that her copy is postable.  The only time there can be writing and such is if it is a cookbook or textbook and they have to PM you ahead of time (as she did).  However I don't think her books falls into that category
