While the 80s styles shown are dated, the book contains lots of great how-to and technique information.
While some of the projects in this book are dated, the ideas are not. If you want to use your serger for more than seaming, here is a good guide and idea book. There is information on a variety of threadshow to use them and what the final effect will beincluding many that are not specifically for sewing.
One thing that will be of interest to many is the information on decorating ideasbed ruffle (skirt), coverlet, pillows, and tablecloth. I found the chapter on accessories excitingbelts, scarves, shawls, handbags and more. There is also a chapter on sleepwear that includes some information on heirloom techniques and a chapter on swimwear and other sewing with the stretchiest knitsexercise wear, and gymnastics, dance and skate costumes.
Excellent ideas, some a bit outdated but still a valuable asset to my sewing collection.
