Good book, well written and descriptive. But way too short.

Stephen E. Ambrose wrote: Until now I thought E. B. Sledge's "With the Old Breed " was the most honest book on combat I had ever read. Burgett's account of his experiences at Bastogne surpasses everything.

Private Donald R. Burgett, at 19, was considered one of the "old men" in Company A, 1st Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. His story is more than incredible.
