I enjoyed this book a bit more than the first one, although the tone of the book shifted with the change in character perspective. It was definitely more addictive - at least, at first. On the other hand, the first book was hard to start, addictive at the end. I also feel that the plot is not as strong and the reader related less to the character in this book than in the first.
Either way, The Dark Ones series is an enjoyable, and guilty pleasure read. I highly recommend swapping the books, because you will go through these books quickly.

This is sequel to the first "Dark Ones" series, in this book Christian sets out to find his beloved. Instead he gets an overbearing and not in the least what he expected women, who doesn't want him. She is a ghost summoner and during her adventures in London she lands herself into a sticky situation, one in which her Dark One must help her out of.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the last one. It didn't have the same humor the other book contained. Her sarcastic characters stayed the same but there were no laugh out loud moments. Also the steamy scenes were really nothing more the warm water in my opinion. I just didn't feel what I wanted to feel between Christian and his beloved. Ill give the next one a try in hopes she can redeem herself.

Sometimes MacAllister is unexpectedly funny, which is why I like to read some of her books. It's when she goes into new magical territory that I enjoy her stories, this one was really not much new... and I really don't get that the guy/dark one is haunted for hundreds of years until he find his beloved, CORNEY-->> come on, meanwhile he's having sex every night with one woman after another.
