Ok normally I love Melody's books but this must have been one of the first books she wrote. Gwen is a horrible main character. She gives in too easily and gets taken advantage of and is just too submissive. Her boss (who's supposed to be her friend) treats her like crap and she never once defends herself. Clients sexually harass her and her fellow coworkers and when she complains to her boss, her boss blames HER for it and then tells her to stay away from a GOOD GUY. Does she quit? NO! She determines it's her job to be a shining light as a Christian to a dark world. And the ending does not give you any satisfaction at all with the boss. Gwen doesn't stand up for herself at all. It's very annoying. I'm sorry but if I wasn't a Christian and read this book, it would only reaffirm the horrible Christian stereotype of being meek and always turning the other cheek.

Thank goodness Melody's current books are no longer like this at all. Ironically, they sometimes tend to bash people who act this very way.
