Another delightful cozy mystery with humor and light suspense! Author is Mignon F. Ballardwho also wrote An Angel to Die For and
Angel at Troublesome Creek!
So far, I've really enjoyed the Augusta Goodnight series. This particular installment wasn't quite as good as the previous 2, but it wasn't bad by any means. I found a few plot points a little predictable and the cast of characters was a bit much to keep track of at times. And, I have to admit, if the characters had more familiar names, it would help. But names like Arminda, Vesta, and Gatlin all as main characters was a bit too much for me. I was also a little disappointed with how little Augusta herself really appeared in the book. I swear she was a more integral character in the previous books. Having said all that, however, I will continue to read the series because I really do enjoy it. I love the concept and can't wait to dive into the next one! :)
this story is very touching just shows we all have a guardian angel watching over us very enjoyable
A cute little cozy mystery about an angel who helps a widow solve a murder, an old family secret, and find meaning in life again.
Augusta helps a woman uncover family secrets.
Meet Augusta Goodnight, guardian angel extraordinaire, and the afterlife's best angel-sleuth. Always on call, she's resourceful, wisecracking - and literally down-to-earth....
Minda Hobbs has returned to her hometown of Angel Heights, South Carolina to seek purpose in her life. Instead, she finders her ne'er-d0-well cousin Otto, as cold and stiff as yesterday's grits, in the ladies' room of the historic Minerva Academy.
Just when she's at the end of her rope, Minda bumps into her guardian angel, August Goodnight. Shimmering with church-window radiance and smelling of strawberry jam, Augusta is a temp on a double mission: to help Minda solve the mystery of Otto's murder and to wrap up some unfinished business from 1916. Their only lead is a tiny, gold pin - and their only hope, a wing and a prayer.

Pleasant characters and suspense - small town setting.
This is an enjoyable story that just happens to involve a guardian angel in the person of Augusta Goodnight. The pace is relaxed, the southern admosphere is charming and pleasant, and the story works itself to a nice conclusion. I recommend it.
This series reminds me of the Aunt Dimity books and I'm a real fan of Augusta Goodnight, guardian angel and mystery solving assistant to Minda Hobbs.
Cozy Mystery, I enjoyed this one.
Now that I've read one, I want to read the rest of the series. Delightful.
A fun read! Well written and enjoyable.
