Desert Roses series #1. Mystery, romance of Harvey Girl who works at the elite El Tovar hotel in 1923. Wonderful read.
This is the first one of her books that I wasn't thrilled with. I liked it but not enough to want to read the rest in this series.
I've always been a huge fan of Tracie Peterson's books, but for some reason i just couldn't get into this book. It was a little slow and the characters didn't feel well developed. I also felt that some of the plot twists made the ending a little too easy. I don't think I'll be reading the next two books.
Interesting, well developed characters!
This is a fantastic book by Tracie Peterson, one of my favorites. I am on to the second in this series and know I will not be able to put it down either.
When Alexandra Keegan's mother is accused of murder, Alex and ranch hand Luke unravel the mystery behind the murder and discover their love for each other. Sandra Burr gives a great performance, with plenty of emotion in voice and pacing. As the romance proceeds along the usual path of Christian fiction, Burr manages to tone down the passion and warm up the morality while bringing Peterson's story to a perfect conclusion. Tracie Peterson will captivate her legion of readers with this romantic historical novel of loss and love, longing and fulfillment. Working as a Harvey Girl at the luxury resort El Tovar, located on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Alexandra Keegan feels she is in a dream come true. But when her father's indiscretions come to light and her mother is suspected of murder, Alex finds herself the center of some unwelcome attention. Will she soon find herself alone in the world?
This is the first series that I read by Tracie Peterson, and I was hooked. She is an excellent author and is able to really capture her reader's interest. This entire series is phenomenal!
This CD was missing Disc #2 and when the sender was emailed, there has been no reply. Do I have any recourse? Thanks, Sallie C.
