This book is all about non-wool yarns. In the first chapter, Amy Singer describes the different categories of non-wool fibers (e.g. flax, hemp, cotton, bamboo, silk, man-made fibers) and their characteristics. The second chapter describes how these yarns behave as a knitted garment, their texture, and how best to use them instead of wool. The third chapter goes into great detail about how to properly swatch (was an eye-opener for me!). The rest of the book consists of patterns (with color charts! unless it's a one-color garment). This book also has the famous Tomato short-sleeved, T-shirt-like sweater pattern in it (if you read KnittingDaily.com you know what I mean! Great book for Knitters/Crocheters who want to expand their knowledge about yarns.
