Yes, as long as their shelf isn't on vacation hold.

My bad!  Thanks for all the correct info (see below)

No you can't.  If you post a book while you are on vacation the book goes on your shelf on hold. Then when you come off vacation it gets offered to FIFO even if it sayd "you are posting this book to x member".

I have a lot of experience with account hold and have made this mistake before.

You also can't have WL books posted to you on autorequest while on vacation hold unless you are #1.

Mary,

I want to post directly to their wish list shelf.  And my account has been on hold all week and I have had a few wish list books that I have on auto request posted to me.

If either of you have your shelves on Vacation Hold it will not work.

You cannot receive requests if you are on Vacation Hold, so you can't post the book to them. Your books would just go to your Bookshelf and wait for your Vacation Hold to come off, then they would go FIFO. I thought they had made it so the Post This Book button disappeared in this instance too to avoid the confusion and problems it caused.

They will have no Post This Book buttons on their Wish List if they are on Vacation Hold so you couldn't post to them. Even if they have the book on AR and are first, you would not be able to post directly to them because the button wouldn't be there, you'd have to post to FIFO and have the book offered to them that way. You have gotten offers on the AR books through FIFO, not a direct posting.

Bertie,

You cannot post directly to her shelf unless both of your accounts are active (ie - not on vacation hold).

If you had WL books posted to you then you were #1 in line for them.

I've made this mistake on both ends. I had  my account on vacation and wanted some audiobooks from someone that were WL.  I added them to my WL and put them autorequest but kept my account on vacation. The only ones it offered to me were the ones where I was the only wisher. All the other ones went to FIFO.

One time I had my account on vacation and went to post books directly to a buddy.  I posted the book, it said it was posting it to X person, but it went on my bookshelf on hold. I took my account off vacation and the book went to FIFO instead of that person.

So unless they've changed how they do things: it won't work.  But try it an see.  You may have to cancel a request to FIFO or tell the member you want to post it to that you now have to send it FIFO.

What if she takes her account off hold and posts it to the persons account then puts it back on hold.  Would she need to wait untill the person accepts it before she puts her account back on hold or can she put it back on right after she's done?  Has anyone tried that?
