hi all sorry if this has been posted before. I just started Sherilyn Kenyon, and she has a lot of books, and several series which is all connected. I looked at her website reading order, and many of the books overlap. Is it really necessary for me to read the books in order, or at least in as much of an order as possible? Also, does she ever define the terms she makes up, it's kind of jarring to her mention some type of paranormal animal/action but not know what it is. Thanks.

I don't know how much help I'll be because it has been so long since I've read them but here goes...

I think that the Dark Hunters and Dream Hunters do kind of overlap some. I've found that the Dream Hunters bore me to death and just skipped all of the subsequent ones after the first. And I never felt like I was missing much. The Dark Hunters themselves, I did read in order and never had a problem understanding her terms so maybe she does explain them in the beginning or as the series progresses? Like I said, its been a long time since I've read them.

IMO, Kenyon had (has) way too many series going on at once and quantity won out over quality big time. Sad really.

I really dislike when an author writes several stories that are separate but they want you to read them in a certain order because they're all somehow connected. If you do that-please put a # on everybook. I can't tell you how many of her books I saw at the library, not only were there no #s on the book, but there was no order provided on the inside of the book. I hate that. Thanks Melissa for your idea though! I'm reding her first dream hunter book, I like it. Then again I read the first league book and liked it until the half point...

I have put off reading her for this reason.

The Amanda Quick/Jayne Castle/Jayne Ann Krentz  Harmony/Arcane books are like that a little. But with them being set in different centuries and one being set on a different planet they're somewhat easier to read out of order.
