Recommended for ages 8 - 12 Heartwarming story of a boy and his dog
A wonderful book for all ages about an abused dog who runs away to a kid who eventualy gains custody, after a very long struggle, of the dog and cares for him.
The Newbery award winning classic about a boy and a dog and about the best and worst of human nature.
I thought that this book was really sad.
Shiloh is about a boy named Marty that finds a dog up by an old school has and it's love at first sight. Marty names the dog Shiloh and takes it home only to find out that Shiloh is really Judd Travers's dog. Judd is a mean old man who hunts out of season and mistreats his dogs. Marty goes to the extreme to save Shiloh but while saving Shiloh he introduces his whole family to Judd's anger.
I liked Shiloh, but sometimes got a little bored.
Judd steals Shiloh, Marty gets him back, Judd steals Shiloh, Marty gets him back.
But great for any dog-lovers!
I remember loving this book as a child, and thought my students would love it as well. They definitely did. An excellent book for young readers, especially those that are dog lovers.
My grandsons' book when he was in the 5th grade. Loved it.
It is a good book for teens.
An excellent book for kids. I read the whole series to my children.
All 4 of my children (3 girls, 1 boy) have read this book, and they all equally enjoyed to. It was a heart warming story of the true love a child shares with a pet.
Great story for kids. My 8-yr-old loved it.
Well written with descriptions of the dog that are notable and moving.
