I read this book in my book club of approximately 8 women. Of the 8, only 1 (myself) thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has long, winding sentences of thought, like listening to someone telling a story on a lazy summer's evening on the porch. For a dedicated reader -- challenging and a great experience.

Absolutely hilarious southern town's characters. Only covers a short amount of time, and the repetitious style does get a bit tedious at times, but it would make a wonderful movie. I'm working on the cast of characters now. I's a treasure

Classic southern fiction in the style of Lee Smith and Clyde Edgerton about a small town and its residents.

Gotten into some other stuff, and just never picked it up.
