This book is the second book in the Anne Perry WWI series. It continues the story of the Reavely family through 1915. Good description of WWI trench fighting without beign too graphic. Plot drogs a bit in the middle. Looking forward to the next book.

This is a great book. I think this series of three (and of which I've read two) is one of her best!

War is probably the most the difficult experience to write about but Perry is able to convey not only the sights and sounds of WW1 but the smells as well as the emotions. While this is a sequel to No Graves as yet it does stand alone and very well. A remarkable book.

Ms. Perry shows she has spent much time learning about circumstances and history of the periods in which she writes. I have read many of her books and find them all most interesting and showing the same knowledge of the era. If I were to see her face to face the only thing I could say is, "Anne, can you PLEASE shorten you chapters???"
