Read the book, not the audio. You are reading for Per Petterson's voice in print, translated from Norwegian by Anne Born. Fantasically wild and beautiful, a terrific story about youth anticipating changes coming to Jutland and struggling with their elders' indifference to impending events. Told intimately in the first person.
