Please excuse my while I play with my siggy!

Anyone know of a ticker site where I can make a ticker to count my books for the year? The best I've found is ticker factory and they dont have one that fits to just count books really....

How many lines of blinkies is too many? Let's count... *tootsie roll commercial* ah-one, ah-two....

Okay. I give up. Which code do ya use (from photobucket) to get the blinkies in the sig line here? Every forum is different....

EDIT: gonna do a search and see if i can find where someone has already asked. (I know it's a repeat. must be. LOL)

Are you talking html? I think it's pretty standard ---- [image]blinkieURL[/image]   I think that's what I used but I could be totally off since it's been awhile since I added anything to a siggy line. I'm going to hit "submit" and then go check my settings. brb

I'm back ... it doesn't say in the settings. Just shows the images in the siggy line with a delete box. Properties didn't help either.  I'm pretty sure the "image" route is standard though. Good luck!

i'll try the full image word - the photobucket shortcut uses IMG instead. :) Thanks!

EDIT: nope. it just says [image] (or [IMG] as the case may be) and then provides a link. I'm wondering if I should just copy/paste...

Just in case anyone does like I did, and conducts a forum search on blinkies, or signatures, or blinkies in signatures, and finds this thread - here's what you do!

In the settings, scroll down to where the signature box is. There's a box for typing your signature (which will show up the words)... and ABOVE that, within the same blue box area, is an "upload" button. You have to have the pictures saved on your computer, and then navigate to them via that button. (It might say "browse" instead of "upload".)

[The problem I ran into was that, on most forums, you use a photo hosting site like photobucket and use their image links, or sometimes the HTML code, to put the blinkies directly into the text box. That's not how it's done here.]

To find some, google "blinkies" or go to glitter-graphics.com - they have a ton and that's where I got most of mine. Or, right click one you see on the forum and "save picture as" to "steal" one from one of us!! :)

The Nancy Drew button/blinkie I made myself, and yes - you're free to steal it. :D If anyone turns my still button into a moving, animated blinkie - please be so kind as to PM me and let me know, so's I can steal it back. *ROFL*

You cannot save animated graphics as a .jpg, DaLynn, it eliminates the animation. Go back to your original Nancy Drew blinkie that you made, and resave it as a .gif, that and .png are the only ones that can have animations. ;)

Thanks!

Actually, I never animated it. LOL I've never ever made a blinky before, this was my first, and this only after messing with stupid MS Paint for over an hour. I didn't want to mess with finding some program to animate it with, so I just left it. :)

Thanks though!

Thanks DaLynn for the website for blinkies.  And for making it seem so easy!  I have not played around with added stuff to my posts only because it seemed to much of a PIA!  This post is my practice post to see if what I did worked!

Okay I think what I'm doing wrong is the pics I am picking are over 30 KB!  Is there an easy way to see how big they are before downloading them?  All the good ones seem like they are bigger files!
