Another great English cozy mystery with Inspector Thomas Pitt helped, of course, by his wife Charlotte. Set in Victorian England, the mystery revolves around high society and a murder three years old. Her characters are warm and inviting, and the social contrasts tie well-born Charlotte and her sister Emily to the families in Hanover Close, inviting them to find a long-hidden secret! I could not put this down until the end!

This is one of Anne Perry's best. A 3 yr old murder investigation is re-opened, and Thomas & Charlotte Pitt are on the move!!! The victim was a member of parliament, and the goal is to keep things smooth but WHOA!!!!!! What a SHOCKING ending!!!!! Charlotte and sister Emily go deep undercover to investigate and come to this startling conclusion.
