This is the second John Ray Horn story, published in the U.K. It has the title 'While I Disappear' in the US. John Ray and Joseph Mad Crow search for the man who killed a former silent film actress with whom the two made a film 20 years previously. It has the terrific crime noir feel of his previous book, 'Cleo's Moon'. I enjoy the noir descriptions of 1940's LA and Hollywood. Good read, nice for a rainy weekend or at the beach.
